Why patches show through paint
Fresh joint compound takes paint differently from the wall around it, so an unprimed patch shows up as a dull square the moment light crosses it. Priming the repair is the step that makes it disappear.
Matching texture
Plenty of walls aren't smooth. Knockdown and orange-peel textures have to be matched by hand, and a smooth patch in a textured wall is easier to spot than the hole it replaced. We match the texture first and paint second.
Touch-up or a full wall
Some repairs can be touched up. Others need the whole wall repainted corner to corner, because the old paint has faded and fresh paint on a patch won't match it. We tell you which before we start, not after.

We go around together in daylight with a pot of paint still open. Anything you point at gets fixed then, not scheduled.

Why do my nail pops keep coming back?
Usually because they were filled without resetting the fastener. We drive the nail or screw back in, add a screw beside it, and then fill and sand.
Can you match the texture on my walls?
Yes — knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel or smooth. We work the patch until it matches the wall around it before any paint goes on.
Do you do drywall repair without a paint job?
Repairs are usually part of a painting job, but ask. If you have a few holes to fix before moving out or listing a house, call and describe what you have.
