Why interior paint looks tired early
Most of it is prep. Paint rolled straight over grease, dust or unprimed patches shows every flaw the first time low light crosses the wall. We clean what needs cleaning, fill and sand what needs filling, and prime anything that would flash through the finish coat.
Living around the work
We plan the order room by room so you still have a kitchen, a bathroom and somewhere to sleep. Ceilings go before walls and walls before trim, so nothing drips onto finished work.
Colors and sheens
We bring up sheen before you have to ask. Flat hides flaws, eggshell and satin wipe clean, semi-gloss belongs on trim and doors. If you are stuck between two colors, a sample patch on the actual wall settles it faster than a chip in the store.
How A Job Runs
- 01
We Walk It With You
Room by room or wall by wall. We look at what is under the old paint, because that is what decides the price.
- 02
You Get It In Writing
Surfaces, prep, primer, number of coats, and the product line by name. One price, and what would change it.
- 03
We Protect The House
Furniture moved and covered, floors down, trim and glass masked, plants and hardscape sheeted outside.
- 04
Prep, Then Paint
Wash, scrape, sand, fill, caulk and prime. The part nobody sees is the part that decides how long it lasts.
- 05
You Walk It Before We Leave
We go around together in daylight with a pot of paint still open. Anything you point at gets fixed then, not scheduled.
Interior Painting: common questions
Do we need to move out while you paint?
No. We work a room or two at a time and keep the rest of the house usable, and we tell you ahead of time which rooms are out of action on which days.
Do you paint ceilings and trim, or just walls?
Whatever you want painted. The quote lists walls, ceilings, trim and doors separately, so you can see what each part costs and leave out anything you don't need.
Which paint sheen should I use?
Flat or matte on ceilings and walls that don't get touched much, eggshell or satin where people lean and kids reach, semi-gloss on trim and doors. We recommend one per room and write it into the quote.
Painting homes throughout Clackamas County
Most of our work is in Clackamas County and the neighborhoods around it. Exterior slots fill up before the dry season, so if you are thinking about the outside of the house it is worth calling early — inside, we work year round.
