What overflowing gutters do to a house
Water that doesn't get carried away lands at the base of the walls. From there it works into the siding, the trim, the crawlspace and the foundation, and those repairs run well past what gutters cost. Overflow also backs water up under the edge of the roof, which rots the fascia and the first few inches of decking where nobody ever looks.
Seams and pitch matter more than the gutter itself
Gutters fail at the joints and at the hangers, not in the middle. Seamless gutter is formed in one piece for the run, so there's nothing to split except the corners and the outlets. Pitch is the other half of it: a run that sits dead level holds standing water and silt, and that weight is what pulls hangers out of the fascia.
Guards, needles and what they can't do
Guards cut down how often somebody is on a ladder, and under heavy trees they earn their keep. They don't make gutters maintenance-free. Fine debris and needles still get through and pack down, and a clogged gutter under a guard is harder to clear than an open one. We'll tell you whether what's overhead justifies them.

Can my gutters be repaired instead of replaced?
Often. Sagging runs, pulled hangers, split corners and blocked outlets are all repairs, and resealing a joint beats a new run on cost. When the gutter is bent up or the fascia behind it has gone soft, replacing is the honest answer, and we show you why.
Water is pooling next to my house. Is that a gutter problem?
Usually it's the downspouts. A gutter can be working perfectly and still dump everything a few inches from the foundation. Extending or rerouting where the water comes out is a small job that fixes a lot of wet crawlspaces.
Are gutter guards worth the money?
It depends on what's growing over the house. Under conifers and heavy leaf drop they cut the cleaning right down. On an open lot they're mostly solving a problem you don't have, and we'd rather say that than sell them to you.
